The Girl I Met That Autumn Day

Updated: Apr 23

I was lost in a world of ink and thought,

Where silence reigned and time was caught.

A quiet place, a sacred dome—

But little I knew, I’d find no home.

She walked right in, like a whispered line,

Blue jeans, white tee — a touch divine.

A sunbeam found her face just right,

And love, I swear, took sudden flight.

Her smile lit up that silent space,

My heart forgot its steady pace.

Her eyes—deep oceans, fierce and wide,

With storms and stars they couldn't hide.

One glance, and I was not the same,

A nameless fire, a wordless flame

.I tried to speak, my courage died—

A chain of fear I couldn’t untie.

It wasn’t new, but felt brand-new,

A truth I knew, yet couldn’t undo.

This time I swore, this time I’d try,

To meet her gaze or live a lie.

She flipped a book, tucked back her hair,

And I stood frozen, caught mid-air.

I saw us framed in future's light,

Two hands, one path, one perfect night.

But fate, that thief, had other plans—

Another voice, another man.

She laughed with him, the smile was his,

And I was lost in what love is.

My dream dissolved in silent pain,

Like ink that runs beneath the rain.

Still somewhere deep, a whisper grew:

"This wasn’t meant, not meant for you."

So I turned the page, and let her be,

But she still writes herself in me.

A fleeting muse I can't betray—

The girl I met that autumn day.
